City Offering Aquatics New Hire Incentive Program at Eastlink Centre and Outdoor Pool

The City of Grande Prairie is offering an Aquatics New Hire Incentive Program where newly employed aquatics staff can be reimbursed up to $500 for advanced courses and certifications needed for these specialized positions.

The incentive aims to encourage community members to complete advanced aquatics certifications and apply for lifeguarding roles with the City of Grande Prairie. It is a new program at the City and an excellent opportunity for residents in the Grande Prairie region to start a career in aquatics.

2022 Eastlink Centre Triathlon Returns July 10

The City of Grande Prairie is excited to announce the annual Eastlink Centre Triathlon is back, with a new date of July 10, 2022.

The triathlon has been an Eastlink Centre tradition since 2017, creating a valued sporting opportunity in the community for athletes of all ages and fitness levels. With the provincial COVID-19 regulations now lifted, the event is pleased to return this year as part of the 10-year anniversary celebration.

Eastlink Centre Expands Weekday Hours for Select Amenities

The Eastlink Centre has extended their weekday hours for the fitness centre, fieldhouse, walking track and squash and racquetball courts.

The new hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Eastlink Centre’s hours continue to be updated in stages to provide more people the opportunity to visit the facility and accommodate the increased number of guests currently visiting in the evening.

The City is pleased to offer additional hours for the community to gather in health, wellness, fitness and events at the Eastlink Centre. 

City Celebrating Family Day with Free Activities at Eastlink Centre

The City of Grande Prairie, in partnership with New Horizon Co-Op, is hosting free activities at the Eastlink Centre on Sunday, February 20 to celebrate Family Day.

To make the event as inclusive as possible, all the activities at the Eastlink Centre will be free, including access to the fitness centre and fieldhouse.

Eastlink Centre Re-Introducing Drop-Ins Starting Monday, July 19

On Monday, July 19 the Eastlink Centre is expanding drop-in availability and no longer requiring bookings for most of its amenities in alignment with Stage 3 of Alberta's Open for Summer Plan.

The Fitness Centre, walking track, fieldhouse, steam room & sauna, lane swim and river walking will all be open for general drop-in.

Public Splash and Play, and squash and racquetball still require pre-booking at eastlinkcentre.ca/book.
