Protect Your Home. Empower Your Neighbourhood.

FireSmart™ is a national approach to help residents understand wildfire risk and take practical actions that reduce the potential impact of wildfire on homes, properties and communities.

About FireSmart™

FireSmart™  is a nationally recognized approach to reducing wildfire risk around homes and neighbourhoods. It focuses on practical actions that help people, neighbours and communities be more fire ready and prepared.

In Grande Prairie, the City and County both take steps, including vegetation management, and work together to support residents in reducing wildfire risk where neighbourhoods meet natural areas. Wildfire resilience is a shared effort between local government, homeowners and neighbours.
