Community Opioid Response Task Force

Launched in December 2017 by previous Mayor Bill Given, the Community Opioid Response Task Force coordinates community efforts to respond to the opioid crisis in Grande Prairie. The Task Force develops responses based on local needs and resources.

The Task Force includes representatives from school districts, healthcare, RCMP, social services organizations, community members, individuals with lived experience, and several municipal government departments.

Opioid Education Awareness

The Task Force maintains a webpage with resources on prevention, harm reduction, policing, and treatment and recovery. A locally-produced 13-video series features genuine stories from people affected by the Grande Prairie opioid crisis. Visit:
