The City of Grande Prairie manages and maintains a total of 17 ball diamonds, located across the city at South Bear Creek Park, Parkside School, the Leisure Centre and Dave Barr Arena. The diamonds host a variety of user groups, including slo-pitch, fastball, and tournaments.

Class A Diamonds (Diamonds 1 & 2, South Bear Creek Park)
$104.74 per two-hour rental time block
These diamonds are available for both slo-pitch and fastball. They offer onsite facility staff that conduct daily maintenance including fertilization, aeration, mowing and infield grooming. Amenities include:
- shale infields and magnetic bases
- bleachers
- lights
- home run netting
- close proximity to the pavilion (includes a concession, picnic area, washrooms and showers)
Class B Diamonds (Diamonds 3-10, South Bear Creek Park)
$88.20 per two-hour rental time block
These diamonds are for slo-pitch only. They offer onsite facility staff that conduct daily maintenance including fertilization, aeration, mowing and infield grooming. Amenities include:
- shale infields and magnetic bases
- bleachers
- portable washrooms
Class C Diamonds (Parkside, Dave Barr Community Centre and Leisure Centre diamonds)
$50.72 per two-hour rental time block
The diamonds at Dave Barr and the Leisure Centre are slo-pitch only. The diamonds at Parkside are for youth only. These diamonds do not have maintenance staff onsite and experience reduced levels of turf management that include fertilization, aeration, mowing and infield grooming when required. These diamonds have clay infields and bases are not provided. During the playing season, portable washrooms will be available onsite.
Class D Diamond (Design Works Centre)
$28.67 per two-hour rental time block
This diamond does not have maintenance staff onsite and experiences a reduced level of turf management that includes fertilization, aeration, mowing and infield grooming when required. This diamond has a clay infield and bases are not provided. The diamond is not fenced. During the playing season, portable washrooms will be available onsite.
South Bear Creek Park is home to a variety of ball tournaments and special events. On average, a dozen ball tournaments are played each season on our diamonds. Our goal is to showcase South Bear Creek as a world-class sports destination, providing our athletes with a home-field advantage.

If maintenance staff is required on a statutory holiday, additional charges may apply.
To maximize usage of the ball diamonds, all user groups must complete and submit an Outdoor Event Permit Application in order to use the facilities for tournaments. All other ball diamond requests can go to southbear@cityofgp.com.
The park has something for everyone, with a large and diverse number of groups that use the facilities regularly. We encourage you to contact groups you are interested in joining directly.
The City of Grande Prairie has finished construction of the final two baseball diamonds at the South Bear Creek Park Baseball Diamond Complex.
The park is enjoyed by over 3,000 people in recreational and competitive leagues of all ages, making it a valuable amenity in the community for recreation and sports development. It is also used to host local, provincial, western and national events promoting sports tourism and boosting the local economy.
Users are asked to please stay off the baseball diamonds until they have officially opened in the spring.
