The City has installed CHP units at the Eastlink Centre. The units use natural gas to generate electricity and the waste heat is captured to heat the pool. 

• This CHP saves the Eastlink Centre approximately $300,000 annually on energy costs.

• Waste heat captured by the CHP relieves boiler operations at the Eastlink Centre from April to October.
