Permits
A building permit and electrical permit are required to install a Hot Tub.
At minimum a building permit is also required for any swimming pools. If looking to build an in ground swimming pool, please contact the Inspection Services department to speak with a Building Safety Codes Officer to discuss scope of project and identify requirements.
Step 1: Apply
Complete a Residential Alteration Application. This package allows you to submit one application when applying for both the required permits. There is no requirement to apply for all at one time, however to minimize wait time, we do suggest applying for all permits at once.
Step 2: Approval
Once a complete application is received, all permits will be issued within 2- 5 business days.
Step 3: Construction
You may begin installation once you have received all required permits.
Below is contact information you may need for ground work and utilities if installing an in ground pool.
Locating utility lines prior to disturbing the ground is the owner's responsibility.
Step 4: Inspections
The conditions issued with your permits will outline what inspections are required.
