Grande Prairie Outdoor Pool Opening for General Admission Starting July 18

The Grande Prairie Outdoor Pool is opening for general admission starting on Sunday, July 18.

The pool is open 7 days a week with public swim times available from 11:00 a.m.- 8:45 p.m.

Individual, single-use timeslot booking is still strongly recommended online to guarantee access. Drop-in users will be accommodated according to availability.

Booking Dates

Starting July 13, single-use bookings are available from Sunday, July 18 - Sunday, July 25. The facility is doing a continuous release of availability every Monday at 8:30 a.m. for the following week.

City Now Permitting Stick & Puck on Low-Board and Neighbourhood Rinks

The City of Grande Prairie is now permitting stick & puck play on all low-board and neighbourhood rinks due to popular demand.

In response to community feedback on both the availability of outdoor hockey opportunities, and the safety of neighbouring properties near the rinks, the City is now easing rink regulations until May 30, 2021 with new conditions in place.

The City of Grande Prairie and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie are proud to announce an exciting, new partnership to support over 1200 children and parents to visit the Grande Prairie Outdoor Pool this summer at no cost.

The partnership is funded by the Don Gilles Legacy Fund, which provides annual funding for aquatics or senior programming.

Eastlink Centre Completing Customer Satisfaction Survey

From February 3 to 16, the Eastlink Centre is completing a Customer Satisfaction Survey in the community both online and in-person.

The comprehensive survey is targeted to all users of the facility including members, user groups and tenants. The purpose is to give management feedback on how satisfied customers are with programs and services offered through the Community Knowledge Campus. 

Eastlink Centre Temporarily Shutting Down 25 Metre Pool Due to Bacteria

The 25 metre pool at Eastlink Centre is being temporarily shut down due to a contamination of the bacteria pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Eastlink Centre is reminding all pool patrons that they must have a full body hot shower with soap in the change room before entering the pool. Lifeguards may refuse entry to patrons not willing to comply with shower requirements.

Staff are working to determine contributing factors and taking steps to prevent further contamination.

New General Manager Named for Community Knowledge Campus

The City of Grande Prairie is excited to announce Angela Redding as the new General Manager for the Community Knowledge Campus.

“Angela Redding has been a valuable employee of the City of Grande Prairie for over 25 years, and has proven herself as a strong, people-focused leader. She has done very well as the interim manager for the Campus, and will be a tremendous asset for the City in this role,” says Arlen Miller, Director of Community Services.
