Transit Access Program

Transit Access Program

The Transit Access Program helps to ensure all residents of Grande Prairie have access to public transit and can stay connected to their community.

It offers a 50% subsidy on the monthly Grande Prairie Transit SUPERPASS to qualifying applicants. The SUPERPASS is a re-loadable electronic smart card used to pay your bus fare.

To be eligible, applicants’ income must not exceed the Low-Income Cut-Off level determined by Statistics Canada +30%.

Applications to access the program can be completed year-round. Proof of address, household income, and documentation for dependent children are all required for the application.

Visit our Transit Access Program Application page to download an application or apply through online registration.

If you are new to Canada (within 3 months) and have a Grande Prairie address, you may qualify for our one-time Explore GP Welcome Package.  Included in the package is access to the Eastlink Centre, Activity and Reception Centre and Transit.

This package is designed to welcome new immigrants with refugee, work permits and student visa status to our inclusive caring community. If you are being supported by a community-based organization, an agency referral form will be accepted to eliminate documentation requirements.

Apply in person at Community Social Development, 9910 99 Ave or call 780-538-0380 if you have questions.
