The SUPERPASS is a new, electronic smart card that can be loaded and reloaded to pay your transit fare.  It is designed to make your transit commute easier and more convenient.

• SUPERPASS cards can be purchased either at one of our vendors or at a City of Grande Prairie facility.    
• After initial purchase of your SUPERPASS card, simply reload your card online or by visiting one of the City of Grande Prairie facilities.
• When you board a Grande Prairie Transit bus, simply tap your SUPERPASS against the card reader located on the electronic fare-box next to the driver. Hold it until it approves your pass and find your seat.
• If you use a SUPERPASS, no paper transfer is required. The SUPERPASS automatically creates a 120-minute countdown in its program, so if you swipe it again within this timeframe it won’t deduct a fare.
• If you pay with cash (coin only), kindly ask the Transit Operator for a transfer.
• Transfers are valid for 120 minutes after the transfer is issued.

No. Once you have a SUPERPASS, you simply need to reload your card by purchasing either a new monthly pass fare or ride fare.

Purchasing and re-loading a new monthly pass or rides onto your SUPERPASS can be done easily online or in-person.

To do it online visit superpass.cityofgp.com and follow the simple, step-by-step instructions. A credit card is required. Re-loading your SUPERPASS on-line can take up to 24-48 hours to become active.

To do it instantly in-person, visit any participating City of Grande Prairie facility (City Hall, City Service Centre, Eastlink Centre, and Muskoseepi Park) or at the downtown Co-Op. You will have to bring your SUPERPASS with you to complete the transaction. Your card will be updated immediately.

Please note, third party vendors such as Shoppers Drug Mart and GPRC Bookstore are unable to re-load a SUPERPASS. Only pre-loaded SUPERPASS cards are available at these locations.

With the new SUPERPASS you are now able to register it online and create an account with Grande Prairie Transit. Creating this account and registering your SUPERPASS gives you access to view your remaining balance and reload it online.

Registration also means that in the event you lose your card, we are able to transfer your existing balance to a new SUPERPASS and cancel the one that was lost.

Register online at superpass.cityofgp.com or by visiting participating City of Grande Prairie facilities (City Hall, City Service Centre, Eastlink Centre, and Muskoseepi Park).

To keep track of your balance online at any time, register your SUPERPASS with a Grande Prairie Transit account superpass.cityofgp.com. If you wish to keep your SUPERPASS unregistered, a message will flash on a display each time you tap your card for fare payment with your remaining balance.   

We highly recommend registering your SUPERPASS so that in the event you lose it, we can assist you better.
When a registered SUPERPASS goes missing, attend any City facility noted below with appropriate identification. We can then simply transfer your remaining balance to a new SUPERPASS and cancel the missing one. Please note, this transaction can only be completed at a participating City of Grande Prairie facility (City Hall, City Service Centre, Eastlink Centre, City on 99 and Muskoseepi Park).
A fee of $5.00 will be charged to replace a lost SUPERPASS effective from 1st July 2019.
Note that there are no refunds for lost cards and that only those cards which are registered will have the ability to have your unused value transferred to a new card.

Passes and rides are non-refundable. The City of Grande Prairie is not responsible for lost or stolen transit monthly passes or rides.

The SUPERPASS program allows Grande Prairie Transit to vastly improve our methods of data collection. For the first time ever, we will be able to access data such as fare category, travel times, routes used and stop characteristics. This will provide exceptional value as we seek to improve our service, design new routes and analyze system performance.
The SUPERPASS does not collect any personal identification or contact information.
Grande Prairie Transit will never track an individual’s SUPERPASS use history or share individualized data with third parties. Only aggregate data will be analyzed for system planning.

If you currently use an AISH, the Transit Access Program (TAP) or school pass, keep in touch with your normal pass vendor to confirm what changes you’ll need to be aware of.
