Applications are now open for the 2021-2022 Grande Prairie Youth Advisory Council (YAC).

YAC is open for 14–24-year-olds of all experiences and backgrounds who want to inspire change and have

an impact on their community through advocacy, education, and policymaking.

At the City Council Meeting held Monday, July 12, 2021 City Council ratified the purchase of the proposed site location for the Coordinated Care Campus.

The subject property is located on the corner of 100 Street and 121 Avenue.

In fall of 2020, the City was approached by the current owner to acquire the property for social housing purposes. After an initial review on the viability of the opportunity, the City engaged an outside consultant to complete a market appraisal, building condition assessment and to prepare grant applications.

The City of Grande Prairie is presenting A Local Panel on Unconscious Bias: An Awareness Campaign for the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21 with a virtual panel of leaders in the area of diversity and inclusion sharing their experiences and expertise.

Residents are invited to attend the panel to listen, learn and ask questions of the panelists.

The Women of Influence Awards 2021 recipients were announced today in a virtual event.

The awards take place to commemorate International Women’s Day in Grande Prairie and aim to recognize local women who have made a strong impact by promoting equality, providing opportunities for women in the community and breaking barriers in their field.
