3D Children’s Society, who support children with serious medical concerns, presented as a delegate. Council directed Administration to work with the organization to contribute $5000 in funding as they are unable to host their annual fundraiser in the Coca-Cola Centre due to Covid restrictions.

Delegations

Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection presented as a delegate to share their 2021 goals and information on the importance of sport and recreation.

Bylaw C-1426 - Face Covering (Mask) Bylaw - Verbal Discussion

Council directed Administration to bring the Temporary Mandatory Face Covering (Mask) Bylaw to the appropriate standing committee for review.

City Council made a public motion in October to move to voluntary arbitration for the Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework (ICF) as soon as possible to address fundamental topics of disagreement between the City of Grande Prairie and County of Grande Prairie that were not being resolved through mediation.

Grande Prairie City Council have appointed Councillor Jackie Clayton as Mayor and Chief Elected Official for the remainder of the Council term.  The next general municipal election will be held on October 18, 2021.The decision comes after former Mayor Bill Given resigned on December 31, 2020 to take on a new position as the Chief Administrative Officer in the Municipality of Jasper.
