The City of Grande Prairie is proud to celebrate Canada Day across the community with a wide variety of events planned for 2020, including a double fireworks display and reverse parade.

Registration for City of Grande Prairie Summer Camps Opens June 4

Start planning your summer- registration opens June 4th for the City of Grande Prairie’s 2020 Summer Camps.

The City is proud to offer a fun selection of summer camps across our facilities. These camps are designed to provide every child with exciting games, activities, challenges, and experiences.

The City's 2020 Summer Camps offer full-day, week-long learning, adventure camps to help children ages 12 and under play, explore and grow.

Online Survey Launches for Grande Prairie Regional Recreation Committee

The second phase of public engagement is now underway for the Grande Prairie Regional Recreation Committee’s 2020 community survey with the launch of an online component.

The online survey is open to all residents of the Committee’s participating municipalities to complete on the Grande Prairie Regional Recreation Committee website at www.gprrc.ca.  

City Centralizing Park Use Permitting Process

The City of Grande Prairie has now centralized all park use permits into a single Outdoor Site and Park Use Permit in an effort to streamline services and improve the customer experience.

Previously, park use permits were location-based, but the new Outdoor Site and Park Use Permit provides a single permit that covers all locations including Muskoseepi Park, South Bear Creek Park (excluding the ball diamonds), Montrose Cultural Centre, downtown, the parking lots at Community Knowledge Campus and Revolution Place, and all of the 100+ parks across the city.

City and Province Hosting Board Governance Education Sessions for Community Groups

The City of Grande Prairie in partnership with the Alberta Culture and Tourism Board Development Program (BDP) are proud to host a community session of Introduction to Board Governance: Understanding Your Roles and Responsibilities on Saturday, March 7.

The workshop takes place from 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. in the Al Robertson Boardroom in Centre 2000 (11330 106 St.) and includes a lunch. Registration is $25 per participant.

City Launches New Online Registration System

The City of Grande Prairie is introducing a new online registration system for recreational programs, services, rentals, memberships and more. Users will now see small changes for in-person transactions at our recreation facilities and the system will be fully available for online transactions starting February 18.

The new system replaces the old registration system, known as eConnect, while offering an enhanced experience for residents.

Grande Prairie Regional Recreation Committee Launching Community Survey

To better understand the recreation needs of regional residents, the Grande Prairie Regional Recreation Committee is undertaking a community survey.

The survey is being used to gauge residents’ preferences, satisfaction, and usage of current and future recreation services. The responses will enable the Committee to identify changes since the initial survey that was completed in 2015, and to determine recreation trends in the region.

New Pond Hockey Area Under Construction at Muskoseepi Park

The City of Grande Prairie is excited to announce a new designated hockey area coming soon to Muskoseepi Park.

This new community project maximizes the existing space within Muskoseepi Park to foster recreation and wellness opportunities year-round.

The new ice surface will be located southwest of 106 Street and 112 Avenue (south of the Kayak Club) within the park and is exclusively dedicated for hockey users to enjoy the sport outside during the winter season.
