The City of Grande Prairie is excited to announce a new designated hockey area coming soon to Muskoseepi Park.

This new community project maximizes the existing space within Muskoseepi Park to foster recreation and wellness opportunities year-round.

The new ice surface will be located southwest of 106 Street and 112 Avenue (south of the Kayak Club) within the park and is exclusively dedicated for hockey users to enjoy the sport outside during the winter season.

The project is made possible by sponsorship with Aquatera, who are providing water to flood the surface. The City of Grande Prairie is providing labour and materials for initial set-up. Ongoing maintenance of the rink will be the responsibility of community users.

Construction is set to start by the end of the week.
