What’s happening
- After our routine maintenance check, we identified that the lazy river’s liner is worn out. We’re replacing it, which is a large project, meaning the lazy river is anticipated to be closed until the end of January 2026. This is a normal life-cycle repair for a high-use feature at the Eastlink Centre.
- This work was originally planned for fall 2026; we’ve advanced it to 2025 to avoid repeat repairs and keep the lazy river feature reliable.
Why this is the right fix:
- A new purpose-built, durable liner will prevent leaks and extend the life of the lazy river. It comes with a 15-year warranty and offers better long-term value than short-term patch repairs.
Timeline
- Based on current supply and installation timelines, work is anticipated to extend until the end of January 2026.
What to expect
- Work areas around the lazy river will be fenced and clearly signed.
- Our team will adjust schedules and programming to reduce impacts as much as possible.
- Members wishing to freeze their membership during the lazy river replacement may the front desk, call 311, or go to eastlinkcentre.ca/membership.
Stay updated
- We’ll share regular updates on what’s done, what’s next, and the reopening date on our website, social media, and on signs at the Eastlink Centre. Front-desk staff can also help with questions.
Thank you
- We appreciate your patience while we complete this work. It will help keep the facility safe, reliable, and in good shape for many years to come.
