GPES places high importance on positive public engagement, education, and communication. Through collaboration with our community partners, GPES strives to deliver an educational approach to bylaw enforcement and traffic safety whenever possible.
Bylaw Enforcement
Through innovative technology and techniques, GPES provides municipal bylaw enforcement and injury prevention in cooperation with the RCMP. Striving to be a positive community partner, GPES officers assist with several community-related activities and public education opportunities with a focus on safety, injury prevention, and bylaw adherence. GPES places high importance on public communication and engagement, which is reflected by community involvement, the significant number of media interviews provided, and collaborative efforts to establish positive community relations.
The Municipal Government Act authorizes the City of Grande Prairie to create and enforce Bylaws (local laws) to maintain the health, safety and wellness of the community.
The GPES front counter services are located in the Grande Prairie RCMP detachment building, located at 10202 99 Street.
