Residents are invited to apply for public member positions on a selection of City boards, committees or commissions, until November 21, 2025.

“Serving on a board, committee, or commission is a meaningful way to strengthen our community and ensure a variety of perspectives are part of City decision-making,” said Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “We are grateful to the many residents who contribute their time and expertise to improving the quality of life in Grande Prairie.”

Boards, committees, and commissions help ensure Council decisions reflect a wide range of community voices and experiences. Some also serve in a quasi-judicial capacity under the Municipal Government Act.

Opportunities are available on the following boards, committees, and commissions:

  • Assessment Review Board – five positions
  • Combative Sports Commission – seven positions
  • Community Advisory Committee – two positions
  • Community Knowledge Campus Advisory Committee – seven positions
  • Grande Prairie Airport Commission – three positions
  • Grande Prairie Public Library Board – four positions
  • Joint Appeals Board – three positions

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and meet the skills, abilities, and experience requirements for the position they are applying for. Representatives from the public are appointed by City Council from a pool of applicants.

Terms begin in January 2026. More information about each group, including responsibilities and expectations, is available at cityofgp.com/boards.
