City Scrub returns April 1–30, 2026, inviting residents to spend 20 minutes helping clean up litter in parks, neighbourhoods and public spaces.
With snow and ice still present across the city, not all litter may be visible right away. Residents are encouraged to start planning their clean-up, pick up supplies and participate when conditions allow. As snow melts throughout April, more opportunities to take part will emerge.
City Scrub is an annual community clean-up initiative in Grande Prairie, encouraging residents to dedicate 20 minutes to collect and properly dispose of litter accumulated over the winter in local parks and neighbourhoods. The event typically runs throughout April, with free supplies such as garbage bags and gloves available at various City facilities, including City Hall, Muskoseepi Park, Eastlink Centre, Grande Prairie Museum, and the City Service Centre. Large groups can arrange for supply pick-up by emailing cityscrub@cityofgp.com. Collected litter can be disposed of in curbside garbage carts alongside regular household trash.
