Aligning with the 2025 theme ‘Stories We Share,’ the City of Grande Prairie is hosting Welcoming Week alongside community partners. Together, they have organized a series of activities to bring newcomers and long-time residents together and strengthen community connections in Grande Prairie through the art of storytelling.
Celebrating our differences and commonalities through storytelling is a bridge between cultures, and the week's events consist of get togethers and community film screenings - sharing stories through film, learning more about culture and bringing community together.
Each event will feature a Taste of Stories global candy table to sample treats from around the world, as well as a Welcoming Week Story Wall for residents to write and share a story of what has made them feel welcome in Grande Prairie.
Don't forget to register for your FREE movie tickets to each of the film screenings. Registration is first come first serve and tickets will be required for entrance. While all of the events for Welcoming Week are free to attend, donations of school snacks, diapers and wipes to support Helping Hands and the Grande Prairie Family Education Society are appreciated.
