Presented by the City of Grande Prairie and the Grande Prairie Council on Aging, co-hosted by the Government of Alberta.
Join us June 1 for a community celebration marking Seniors’ Week in Alberta and Intergenerational Day. This event will bring residents together to recognize connection across generations through art, conversation and shared experiences.
Full event details are coming soon. Check back for updates.
The Aging Well Together Community Art Showcase is one of the ways residents can take part in this year’s celebration.
Community members of all ages are invited to submit artwork that reflects what aging well looks like in Grande Prairie. Artwork can explore themes of connection, belonging and living well across generations. All styles and mediums are welcome.
Submissions are open until May 18 and can be entered in four categories:
A selection committee will choose 12 pieces to be featured at the June 1 event. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the artwork and vote for their favourites.
One piece from each category will receive a People’s Choice award and a $100 gift card and will be displayed at the Grande Prairie Public Library for the month of June. All submissions will also be entered into a draw for a $150 gift card.
