Proclamations
Mayor Clayton proclaimed September 18 to 24, 2023 as Rail Safety Week. The week is dedicated to reducing avoidable death, injury, and damage caused by incidents involving trains and citizens.
Unaudited Financial Statements
Council received for information the unaudited financial statements and supporting information for the period ending June 30, 2023.
Amendment to Traffic Bylaw
Council approved amendments to the Traffic Bylaw C-1166J that extends the truck route east on 68 Avenue between 92 Street and the City limit.
City’s Strategic Plan Q2-2023 Status Report
City Council received for information the City’s Strategic Plan 2022-2025: Q2-2023 status report for information.
Correspondence
City Council received a letter from the County of Grande Prairie declining a request for temporary truck access to 116 Avenue between 68 Avenue and TWP Road 710 to alleviate congestion during the current construction season.
Coordinated Care Campus
City Council referred discussion and approval of an additional $1.2M for the Coordinated Care Campus project, funded from the Future Expenditures Reserve, to the appropriate standing committee for further information.
Public Hearings
- Roadway Name Change: City Council approved amendments to the West Industrial Area Structure Plan (Bylaw C-1329A) and Urban Rail Business Park Outline Plan (Bylaw C-1466A) that change the name of the subject roadways from 91 Avenue to Railway Avenue.
- Temporary Farming Permission: City Council approved amendments to the Land Use Bylaw (C-1260-174) that permit the owner to farm the land until development occurs. In addition, Council directed administration to bring to the appropriate standing committee potential Land Use Bylaw amendments to allow Agricultural Use as a Discretionary Use on vacant land.
