Delegations

Dionne Martin presented to advocate on behalf of concerned citizens.

Angie Saltman presented regarding proposed land use bylaw amendments in Scenic Ridge.

Board Appointments

Council appointed Mayor Clayton and Councillors O'Connor and Berg to the Regional Branding Committee.

Chief of Police

Council ratified the decision of the Grande Prairie Police Commission to appoint Dwayne Lakusta as Chief of Police of the Grande Prairie Police Service, effective August 28, 2023.

Correspondence

Mayor Clayton received a letter from the 2025 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games Organizing Committee, inviting a Council representative to join the Committee. Councillor O’Toole was appointed.

Mayor and Council received a letter from the President of Metis Local 1990 with an official ask for a land transfer to support the ongoing efforts to continue building capacity and stability for the Elders Caring Shelter. Council directed Administration to review the letter and bring a report back to the appropriate standing committee.
