This week, construction begins on a new dog park in the South Bear Creek Park.

The new park is being developed west of the current dog park, and north of the bike skills park. It is anticipated to be open by the end of July.

The facility will have a section for small dogs and a larger area for all dogs, with benches, garbage and sanitary bins.

Residents are advised that the trail to the east of the site is closed for the duration of construction. Users are asked to be mindful of construction crews and obey site signage.

The City of Grande Prairie looks forward to the opening of this new community recreation facility to meet the demand for greater dog parks opportunities across the city.
