Here are the highlights for the City Council Meeting held September 8, 2020:

Delegates

A number of residents presented as delegates regarding mandatory masking.  

Expression of Interest - South Montrose Site

Council approved an Expression of Interest to explore development of the South Montrose Site located at 9839 103 Avenue.

This provides an opportunity to solicit concepts which incorporate the core components of the South Montrose Master Plan for developing a prominent downtown location, enhancing livability and maximizing benefit for the entire community.

Revolution Place Renovations

Council approved proceeding with previously-approved renovations to Revolution Place consisting of painting the lobby spaces, upgrading the point of sale system and enhancements to the security screening system, with an estimated cost of $200,000.00.

Concession upgrades have been deferred until the fall 2020 budget deliberations where a decision will be made regarding the scope of further renovations.

Temporary Mandatory Face Covering (Mask) Bylaw

Council passed the Temporary Mandatory Face Covering (Mask) Bylaw.

The bylaw identifies a ‘trigger point’ for masking to become mandatory in indoor public areas and public vehicles when case numbers in the City and County combined reach 100 or a relaunch status change by either municipality to Enhanced status as per the Government of Alberta.

A number of exemptions are applicable.
