The City of Grande Prairie is searching for 10 local artists to showcase their talent during live art demonstrations this Heritage Day.
The event takes place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on August 3 in Muskoseepi Park.
Artists will be able to exhibit their artistic ability to the public during the event and have their finished work displayed in the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion year-round for the public to view. Each artist will be supplied with acrylic paint and a canvas.
During the event, artists will be asked to create works based on their preference for one of the following themes chosen by the community:
- Grande Prairie through the ages
- Historical buildings in the region
- The meaning of Muskoseepi
All artists will receive a $100 remuneration.
To register, interested individuals can email programming@cityofgp.com by Monday, July 27 with their theme selection and pictures of two original art pieces. Limited spots available; all applicants will be reviewed and selected by a panel.
