Local businesses, community groups and organizations are invited to show off their patriotism by entering parade floats in the Canada Day parade downtown Grande Prairie or booking a booth space in Muskoseepi Park as part of the City’s annual Canada Day celebrations on July 1.
Canada Day is the City’s largest annual event, with 20,000 people attending annually to celebrate the history, culture and pride for our nation. It includes a parade, a wide variety of festivities in Muskoseepi Park for all ages and a fireworks display. Participating in the event with a parade float or booth space is an unmatched opportunity to showcase your organization, connect with community and take part in Canada Day celebrations.
“We look forward to celebrating Canada Day in style, with all of our local businesses and community groups adding their unique flair to our parade and festivities,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “We encourage everyone to apply and take part in this opportunity to be part of Canada Day as it is collaborations like these that make our community such a vibrant, diverse and bright place to celebrate.”
Both the Parade Registration Package and the Community Group Application Form are available on the City’s website at cityofgp.com/CanadaDay.
Parade registration is free for non-profits and costs $52.50 for profit organizations. Community group booths cost $50 per booth and are no charge for non-profit groups who supply a Certificate of Incorporation.
Applications for both parade registration and community groups can be submitted until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024.
The City looks forward to another year of creating grander moments, connections and celebrations with the community at this year’s Canada Day event. Stay up to date with all the Canada Day details at cityofgp.com/CanadaDay.
