The City of Grande Prairie is proud to announce the speaker and panelist lineup for the upcoming State of the City: Grander Conversations event, featuring community and industry leaders.
The Inclusive & Caring Community Panel brings together professionals from essential service sectors to discuss community well-being, collaboration, advocacy and opportunities for growth. Panelists include:
- Kendra Sledding, Community Development Specialist, The Mustard Seed
- Candice Edey, Senior Operating Officer, Grande Prairie Regional Hospital
- Dr. Vanessa Sheane, President, Northwestern Polytechnic
Following the community panel, an update on the progress of the Maskwa Medical Centre, a major healthcare initiative for the region, is being provided by Ken Drysdale, Chair of the Board of Directors.
Next, the Innovative Efficiencies & Economic Readiness Panel explores economic trends, supporting local industry and the future of key sectors in Northwestern Alberta. Panelists include:
- Brock Mulligan, Senior Vice President, Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA)
- Claire Hafner, Senior Advisor for Alberta Policy and Strategic Outreach, Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP)
- Jesse Meyer, Region 5 Delegate, Alberta Grains
After the industry panel, Larry Gibson, Manager for Economic Development at the MD of Greenview, will provide an update on the Greenview Industrial Gateway (GIG) and its upcoming projects.
Moderated by Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton, Grander Conversations is an opportunity to gain firsthand insights into emerging trends, economic outlooks, and community initiatives.

State of the City: Grander Conversations takes place on Tuesday, March 25 from 11:00-1:30 at the Teresa Sargent Hall in the Montrose Cultural Centre. It is a networking event for business leaders, community stakeholders and residents looking to stay informed about the future of Grande Prairie.
Tickets are available for $40 at bonnettsenergycentre.com until Monday, March 20. The ticket cost covers a catered lunch and a networking event. A livestream of the event will be recorded and available on the City of Grande Prairie’s Youtube channel youtube.com/@CityofGrandePrairie.
