On Tuesday, September 5, road work begins in the Pinnacle Ridge area on:

  • Pinnacle Avenue between Pinnacle Drive and Pinnacle Lake Drive;
  • Pinnacle Heights;
  • Pinnacle Way between Pinnacle Lake Drive and Pinnacle Drive; and
  • Pinnacle Lake Drive between Pinnacle Road and Pinnacle Way.

Work consists of milling the existing road surface and placing a new pavement surface, spot replacing concrete curb and sidewalks, minor repairs to the storm sewer infrastructure, re-establishing road line markings & crosswalk lines and landscaping.

It is anticipated that crews will operate from Monday to Saturday, with work expected to be complete before mid-October, weather permitting.

Traffic is restricted but maintained, and the speed limit is reduced to 30 kilometres per hour during construction. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution, watch for flag people and anticipate potential traffic delays.

"Upgrading and maintaining city infrastructure is not just a necessity; it's our commitment to ensuring a safe, efficient and vibrant community," said City of Grande Prairie Project Engineer Daniel Dawson. " The City appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding during construction."
