On Monday, June 7, water levels in the Muskoseepi Park reservoir will be significantly lowered to accommodate safe inspections of the spillway structure scheduled for Tuesday, June 8, as part of the City’s Bear River Control Structure Spillway Assessment and Study.
To obtain full access to the spillway structure, crews will pump water from below the spillway and from the reservoir to detour it downstream, where water flows will be maintained as part of the City’s approved environmental permits to conduct the inspection.
The pathways above and immediately adjacent to the spillway will be closed to pedestrians for approximately six to eight hours on June 8 as crews conduct the inspections. Detour signs will be in place to direct pedestrians to open trails.
Once the inspections are complete routine water flows will resume.
