Construction on the new Maskwôtêh Park pedestrian bridge continues, with the installation of the steel structure planned for Friday, September 24.
Two mobile cranes will lift the nearly 30-tonne steel superstructure into place from the north support structure. Concrete deck panels will then be installed and an asphalt trails connecting the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital to the bridge will also be built.
Construction of the new Maskwôtêh Park pedestrian bridge is set to be complete in late October, dependent on weather.
To safely carry out the bridge superstructure installation, Maskwôtêh Park will be closed to the public from Sept 22 to 26. Pedestrians will be temporarily rerouted during the park closure.
The City thanks everyone for their patience and cooperation during construction.
