Monday, June 28, JMS Construction will begin maintenance work on 13 pedestrian bridges within the Muskoseepi Park, along the trail system.

The Bridge Repair and Maintenance Program is the City’s proactive approach for identifying and performing maintenance activities to prevent minor structural defects from worsening and in turn extending the life of the bridges.

Each site will require different repairs – from bridge washing and painting to deck treatments to repairing approach rails. Due to the type of work being performed, pedestrians using the trails and bridges will be temporarily rerouted while construction crews work at each site. Maintenance on each bridge is expected to take one day. Detours will be clearly marked.

The bridges affected by this project are located:

  • North of the reservoir
  • Near the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion
  • At the Grande Prairie Museum
  • South of 99 Avenue
  • Near 94 Avenue
  • Near 89 Avenue
  • Near 84 Avenue
  • Near 81 Avenue
  • Near 79 Avenue
  • Near 76 Avenue
  • Near 71 Avenue
  • Southwest and southeast ends of Muskoseepi Park

Visit the City’s website for specific construction details for each site.

The City thanks everyone for their patience and cooperation during this project.
