On Tuesday, July 4, road work begins on 92 Street between 92 Avenue and 100 Avenue.
Work consists of milling the existing road surface and placing a new pavement surface; spot replacing concrete curb and sidewalks; minor repairs to the storm sewer infrastructure; re-establishing road line markings and crosswalk lines; and landscaping.
It is anticipated that crews will operate from Monday to Saturday, with work expected to be completed before mid-August, weather permitting.
Traffic is maintained with occasional lane restrictions and the speed limit is reduced to 30 km/hour during construction. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution, watch for flag people and anticipate potential traffic delays.
The City appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding during construction.
“Keeping the public informed about the upcoming construction is of utmost importance to us,” said Project Engineer Daniel Dawson. “By providing timely and comprehensive updates, we aim to foster a strong partnership with our community, ensuring that everyone remains aware and prepared for the changes that lie ahead.”
Background Information
In 2023, the City allocated approximately $10.95 million to enhance the road network. This includes road reconstruction, road overlay, and full-depth reclamation (FDR) projects, which collectively aim to enhance the overall quality and longevity of our roads.
