The intersection of 100 Avenue and 100 Street is closed to vehicle traffic beginning July 1, to accommodate continued construction on the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project.

The closure is needed for the replacement of all remaining underground infrastructure, including storm, sanitary, and water lines. Above ground infrastructure will also be replaced, including roadways, concrete curb and gutter, and sidewalks.

100 Avenue between 100 Street to west of 98 Street remains closed to vehicle traffic.

Traffic signal timing at nearby intersections will be adjusted to allow adequate time for increased traffic volumes on the detour route and around the site.

100 Avenue between 100 Street and 101 Street will once again feature two-way traffic and a cul-de-sac adjacent to the 100 Avenue and 100 Street intersection, as well as parking along either side of the roadway. This is to allow easy vehicle access to all businesses along 100 Avenue, west of 100 Street.

A detour map is available for viewing and download on the City’s website.

Drivers are reminded to travel with caution around the construction zone and watch for increased traffic, pedestrians, and construction vehicles moving in and out of the area.

Businesses in the downtown core remain open, with front access and back alleys are open to local vehicle traffic.
