The Community Advisory Board on Housing and Homelessness (CABH) is currently recruiting public board members.
CABH acts as an advisor to the City of Grande Prairie for grant funding received from the Government of Canada and the Province of Alberta to give input into current and future priorities for affordable housing and ending homelessness.
Responsibilities of CABH include:
- Developing a Review Committee terms of reference for the solicitation, review and recommendation of projects to the City of Grande Prairie
- Assessing progress in addressing community priorities
- Ensuring plans are being developed and updated
- Providing a community perspective on housing and homelessness
Application Information
CABH is seeking knowledgeable, qualified members of the community drawn from various walks of life to help support our priorities for ending homelessness. The board is particularly seeking representatives of youth, seniors, immigrants/newcomers, and professionals in the domestic violence sector.
Previous experience on other boards or committees is an asset but not a requirement.

CABH currently meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Longer meetings may be scheduled if needed. Committee work if interested, and attendance at homeless initiative events are spread out throughout the year.
