The City of Grande Prairie is reminding the public of the following community facilities that are staying open over Canada Day for residents to enjoy a cool place to escape the heat as forecasted temperatures remain high:
The following facilities are open for all members of the public Thursday, July 1:
- Ernie Radbourne Pavilion
- 12:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
- Grande Prairie Museum
- 12:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
- Eastlink Centre
- 12:30 p.m.- 5:30 p.m.
- Coca-Cola Centre
- 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
The City reminds residents to take other health precautions during the heat wave to stay safe and healthy including wearing sunscreen and weather appropriate clothing, rescheduling outdoor activities to during cooler hours, taking frequent breaks from heat and staying hydrated.
