City of Grande Prairie residents interested in shaping their community may become a candidate in the 2021 Municipal Election by submitting nomination forms by September 20, 2021.

The municipal election occurs on October 18, 2021 where residents will elect:

• Mayor (1 position)
• City Councillor (8 positions)
• Grande Prairie and District Catholic School Board Trustee (5 positions)
• Grande Prairie Public School Board Trustee (7 positions)

City of Grande Prairie Mayor and City Council represent the entire community and are not divided into wards or divisions.

To be eligible to run for Mayor or City Council a resident must be at least 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen; and a resident of the City of Grande Prairie since March 20, 2021.

Candidates may submit nomination forms anytime between now and September 20, 2021 at 12 noon. To submit nomination forms, please book an appointment with the City Clerk, Arlene Karbashewski, by emailing elections@cityofgp.com.
