The Halloween Spooktacular event from the City of Grande Prairie and DownTown Association returns to the City Centre on Saturday, October 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. doors open at 10:30 a.m.

“The City is excited to offer this family friendly event again this year as an accessible, inclusive and safe option for trick-or-treating families,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “We want to thank the DownTown Association and local businesses who partnered with us to create a fun way for our community to get out together and celebrate this spooky but fun holiday.”

"We're thrilled to participate in this annual, long standing tradition," said Wendy Bosch, Executive Director of the Grande Prairie Downtown Association. "Children's infectious enthusiasm for dressing up is something we adults truly cherish, and this innovative approach ensures we can uphold this fun event while keeping safety a priority. Our businesses share a collective desire to give back to our community. It epitomizes the essence of small business values, contributing to our community's betterment. We would like to thank the City of Grande Prairie for joining us on this day of fun, embracing the spirit of the season and enjoying sweet treats. Ultimately, it's all about a delightful Halloween celebration."

Head over to The Bowes in Bonnetts Energy Centre for free family activities including:

  • Costume contest for children ages zero to 12 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Haunted house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Live roaming children’s entertainment from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Photo booth from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Free hot dogs, cookies and refreshments starting at 1:30 p.m.
  • Trick-or-treating down 100 Avenue (between 99 Street and 101 Street) from 12:30 to 1:30 to get candy from local businesses as part of the festivities.
