The City and County of Grande Prairie have partnered together to bring fun, free activities to their communities as part of Seniors' Week, taking place June 5 to 11.

Activities are held at the Eastlink Centre and include:

• Two seniors deep aquatic classes - pre-registration only
  • Class description: Various movements benefiting the whole body with cardio, endurance, strength and flexibility. This class occurs in deep water with a flotation belt. 
  • Tuesday, June 6 from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Thursday, June 8 from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Two introduction to essentrics dryland classes - pre-registration only.
  • Class description: A full-body, non-impact workout designed to release tight muscles and joints to increase strength and flexibility. Designed for all ages and fitness levels, this dynamic strengthening and stretching program can help improve posture and boost mobility and balance to feel strong, healthy and pain free.
  • Tuesday, June 6 from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 8 from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.
• A multi-sport event featuring pickleball, cornhole and floor curling - drop-in only.
  • Tuesday, June 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The four seniors deep and introduction to essentrics classes also include a special seniors snack and chat for registered participants to get together to enjoy coffee, snacks, door prizes and conversation once the class is over.
