Explore the possibilities of digital art with Screens to Studio: Digital Art Workshop, a free workshop for youth and young adults (ages 14+) presented as part of Alberta Culture Days! Learn the fundamentals of digital art and design through techniques like photobashing, layering, composition, digital effects, gradient maps, and drawing. Step-by-step demonstrations are presented using the free IBIS Paint app, with support available for participants working in programs like Procreate, Photoshop, and Clip Studio Paint. Participants can create a new digital artwork from start to finish, continue working on an existing piece or bring a traditional sketch they would like to digitize. Beginners are encouraged, but participants with previous digital art experience are also welcome to come experiment, develop their skills, and connect with other young artists. No previous digital art experience is necessary. A limited number of tablets will be available if you have access to a tablet please download IBIS Paint app and bring it with you.
