Public Member Appointments

Council accepted the resignation of Corrine James from the Combative Sports Commission and appointed Katie Biberdorf for a term ending December 31, 2026.

Council appointed Oliver Dawson as the Canada Day Parade Marshall.

Cenotaph Relocation 

Council approved the Montrose Cultural Centre Concourse (west of the existing concrete plaza) as the new location for the cenotaph.

FCSS Funding Framework 2027-2029 

Council adopted the Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) Funding Framework for the 2027-2029 funding cycle and distributed the FCSS funding available for external investments, with 80 per cent directed towards Programs, with a maximum annual funding cap of $135K per funding activity, and 20 per cent to Community Development and Capacity Building.

Council allocated the FCSS funding for Programs across the five Provincial Prevention Priorities: 

  • Homelessness & Housing Insecurity: 10%
  • Mental Health & Addiction: 25%
  • Employment: 10%
  • Family & Sexual Violence: 40%
  • Aging Well in Community: 15%

Stone Ridge Outline Plan Amendment C-1383C and Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-211

Council defeated Bylaw C-1383C, being an amendment to the Stone Ridge Outline Plan and Bylaw C-1260-21, being an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw.

Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-213

Council gave three readings to Bylaw C-1260-213, being an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw.

The amendment rezones land in the Arbour Hills neighbourhood to allow for new residential development, including a mix of housing types. The proposal aligns with the approved neighbourhood plan and is compatible with surrounding development.
