Swim Alberta Summer Festival impacts aquatics access at Eastlink Centre June 12-14

Residents and Eastlink Centre patrons are advised of temporary aquatics amenity impacts from Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14 as the facility hosts the Swim Alberta Summer Festival, hosted by the Grande Prairie Piranhas. The event is expected to welcome approximately 400 athletes, coaches, officials and spectators.

During the swim meet, limited public swim will be available during scheduled time slots with capacity capped at 100 guests per session.

While certain impacts are listed below, those planning to visit Eastlink Centre from June 12-14 are encouraged to check AccessNow before their visit.

Please note the following amenity impacts:

Aquatics facility impacts

  • Adult hot tub unavailable from Friday, June 12 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, June 14 at 7 p.m.
  • 50-metre competition pool unavailable from Thursday, June 11 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m.

The following amenities remain available during public swim times:

  • Family hot tub
  • Wading pool and splash park
  • Water slides
  • Lazy river
  • 25-metre program pool
  • Sauna
  • Steam room

Fitness and program impacts

The following aquatic fitness classes are cancelled on Friday, June 12:

  • Deep End Energy (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
  • Move Well Aqua (12 p.m. to 1 p.m.)

Water Polo is cancelled:

  • Thursday, June 11
  • Sunday, June 14

Friday, June 12 public swim time slots

  • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Fit Swim remains available from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. with access to:

Saturday, June 13 public swim time slots

  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 14 public swim time slots

  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Regular aquatics access resumes following the conclusion of the swim meet and reopening of the 50-metre competition pool at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 14.

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend. Guests are invited to support the athletes from the designated spectator seating area and enjoy the competition throughout the weekend.
