Rehabilitation work is planned to begin June 1 at two intersections along 100 Avenue to renew and improve key commuter routes through Grande Prairie.
Work is scheduled at:
- 100 Avenue and 108 Street
- 100 Avenue and 116 Street
The project includes asphalt milling, paving, concrete work and installation of thermoplastic pavement markings to help maintain and renew these key transportation corridors.
Residents and commuters can expect:
- Lane alternating traffic
- A temporary 30 km/h speed limit through work zones
- Short-term closures and delays
Sidewalk and pathway access will be maintained throughout construction.
Construction activities will occur during both daytime and overnight periods from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. The overnight work is planned for select operations to help minimize impacts to daytime commuter traffic.
This work is part of ongoing infrastructure renewal efforts along the 100 Avenue corridor, with different improvements completed over time to support long-term roadway performance and reliability.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, follow posted signage, detours, and allow extra travel time while work is underway.
Construction schedules and current traffic impacts are available through the Traffic Planner Map at cityofgp.com/capitalconstruction.
