(Grande Prairie, Alta. – November 4, 2025) – The City of Grande Prairie has awarded Fossil Energy official naming rights for the Bear Creek Ball Diamonds, which will now be known as Fossil Energy Ball Park.

The partnership with Fossil Energy reflects the value of collaboration between local business and the City while allowing Grande Prairie to enhance recreation spaces and create lasting benefits for residents. Fossil Energy Ball Park is a high-use recreation facility that draws players and visitors from across the region for league play, tournaments and community events each season, supporting local sport and tourism opportunities.

“The ball diamonds have long been part of Grande Prairie’s recreation history and continue to bring people together through sport and community spirit,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “We are grateful to Fossil Energy for their partnership and their commitment to supporting spaces that strengthen connections across our community.”

“At Fossil Energy Solutions, we’re proud to support the Peace Country community that has supported us for so many years,” said Fossil Energy General Manager, Justin Lieverse. “Sponsoring the local ball diamonds—now Fossil Energy Ball Park—is our way of giving back and creating a space where families, friends and neighbors can come together. Just like in our work, teamwork and community spirit are at the heart of everything we do.”

Signage updates reflecting the new name will take place in the spring as the facility prepares to welcome ball players from across the region for another exciting season.
