The City of Grande Prairie is excited to bring back GirlZone, an activity-based day for girls ages 10 to 15 this October! GirlZone aims to encourage young women to try new skills and recreational activities in a non-judgmental setting with their peers. The event also attempts to address the decline of girls’ participation in sports during adolescence while creating a safe and inclusive space for participants to try new things.

Date: October 3, 2026

Time: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Location: Eastlink Centre

Age restriction: Girls ages 10 to 15.

Cost: $30-- includes lunch

Participants will be divided into five groups of 20 to 25 girls. An optional group is available for ages 13 to 15 to support a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone. Each of the groups will visit seven of the ten available stations showcasing a mix of sports, skills and cultural experiences.
