Delegations

Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park presented to Council requesting redirection of previously approved decommissioning funds for engineering and design work for a long-term replacement solution. Council directed Administration to meet with Nitehawk to find the best option to reopen the driving range, and bring a report back to a future Council Committee of the Whole meeting.

Wendy Kempert presented to Council to express concerns about the increasing rabbit population in Swanavon. Council directed Administration to bring a report back to the appropriate Standing Committee regarding options on how to deal with the feral rabbit issue within the City, and proceed with an immediate information/education campaign on this topic.  

Borstad Hill Electrical Infrastructure

Council approved $30,000 operational funding to support the 2025 Bear Creek Folk Festival fuel and generators, with $25,000 to be funded from the Community Enhancement Fund, and $5,000 from arts development operational funding. 

Bear River Control Structure Armouring Project

Council allocated $396,643.00 from the 2024 Storm Utility Capital Improvements budget to the spillway armouring project.

Council gave three readings to Bylaw C-1260-201, being an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw.
