(Grande Prairie, Alta. – May 4, 2026) – Youth Week in Grande Prairie returns with a full lineup of activities designed to help young people try new things, build confidence and explore future opportunities.
A key highlight is the Youth Career Discovery Expo on May 7 at Bonnetts Energy Centre. The event will bring together more than 100 exhibitors and is expected to welcome over 2,000 youth an young adults ages 15 to 30.
Through hands-on exhibits and interactive booths, youth can connect with local employers, post-secondary institutions and training providers. The experience is designed to make career exploration more accessible and give participants a clearer sense of the paths that are available.
“Youth Week creates opportunity for young people to explore their interests and start thinking about what comes next,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “The Youth Career Discovery Expo is a strong example of how we’re supporting community empowerment and livability by connecting youth with real opportunities and experiences.”
Participants can also take part in an interactive bingo activity and enter to win prizes, including event tickets, tech, tools and gift cards.
In addition to the expo, Youth Week programming will take place at the Eastlink Centre and Design Works Centre, with activities focused on recreation and skill building:
Fitness Centre Orientations
May 4, 5 to 7 p.m.Extra support for youth getting started in the Fitness Centre and learning how to use equipment safely.
FlowRider Showcase
May 5, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.A high-energy session with demonstrations and opportunities to see what FlowRider programming can look like.
AquaZumba Feature
May 5, 8 to 9 p.m.A fun, low-impact water workout combining Zumba movements with aquatic exercise.
Junior Lifeguard Club Showcase
May 6, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.An introduction to water safety and lifesaving skills in a flexible, drop-in environment.
Start Before You’re Ready Workshop
May 8, 5 to 7 p.m.Delivered in collaboration with the Youth Advisory Council and Tara Zeller.

May 8, 7:30 to 9:30A unique chance to watch a classic film from the pool.
