(Grande Prairie, Alta. – July 30, 2026) – Experience Grande Prairie returns for its fifth year on Friday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 11 p.m., inviting residents and visitors to celebrate the end of summer with a free evening of live music, local flavour and community connection.      

This year, the City's signature summer celebration will take place outside Bonnetts Energy Centre. Presented by the City of Grande Prairie in partnership with 97.7 Rock, with support from the Downtown Association and stage sponsorship support from Servus Credit Union, the event will transform the outdoor grounds into a gathering place for residents and visitors to enjoy an evening of live entertainment.

Canadian rock legends Trooper will headline this year's celebration, bringing decades of iconic hits to the Experience GP stage. With crowd favourites like Raise a Little Hell, Here for a Good Time and The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car, the band's high-energy performance will cap off an exciting evening of live entertainment. 

The lineup also features a mix of local and regional talent, including:

• Markevich Youth Band – Featuring young musicians from Markevich Creative Studio's Rock Camp program.
• Brad Sims – A dynamic First Nations country singer-songwriter known for his powerful vocals and engaging performances.
• The Northbloods – A Grande Prairie band with a distinct sound that can only be described as hauntingly magnetic.

Beyond the music, Experience Grande Prairie offers plenty to explore. Inside The Bowes, local organizations will host interactive community booths alongside children's activities and games, creating a welcoming space for families to connect and play. Outside, H.A Rice Plaza will feature a variety of food vendors throughout the evening.

Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the evening.
