Renewal and efficiency upgrades underway at the Montrose Cultural Centre

The City of Grande Prairie has begun essential upgrades at the Montrose Cultural Centre, focusing on improving building systems, energy efficiency and overall performance to support long-term community use.

Work is now underway on early structural and building-system upgrades, with additional phases progressing through 2026. Improvements taking shape over the coming months focus on modernizing core infrastructure, enhancing efficiency and supporting the safety and comfort of visitors, staff and tenants.

All Montrose Cultural Centre tenants—including the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, the Grande Prairie Public Library and Jeffery’s Café—remain open and operating as usual at this time. Visitors may notice workers on site and fenced-off areas as construction progresses. The City appreciates the public’s patience around these temporary adjustments.
