“Public members on our boards, committees and commissions play a meaningful role in how decisions are made at the City,” said Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “They take the time to review information, consider different perspectives and provide recommendations that help Council make informed decisions. We truly value the time and commitment these members bring to the process, and I encourage residents who are interested in serving their community in this way to consider applying.”
Boards, committees and commissions review information, provide advice and make recommendations that help inform City Council decisions. Some also serve in a quasi-judicial capacity and have the authority to make decisions and judgments as provided for under provincial legislation.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and meet the skills, abilities and experience requirements for the position they are applying for. Public members are appointed by City Council from the pool of applicants.
Applications are open until November 27, 2026. Terms begin in January 2027.
