Community groups are invited to apply for the City of Grande Prairie’s Community Group Funding program, with applications open from June 1 through June 29.

The program provides financial support to community-led initiatives that deliver programs, services and projects that enhance the well-being of residents and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive community.

Funding is available through several streams designed to meet a variety of needs:

  • Small grants: up to $10,000 annually for local initiatives that enhance community life.
  • Medium grants: up to $25,000 per project per year for initiatives addressing emerging or unmet needs, with up to two years of funding available.
  • Large grants: over $25,000 annually for Council-approved organizations delivering services on behalf of the City or operating City-owned facilities.
  • Capital grants: covering up to 50 per cent of total project costs.

“Local organizations know their communities best and are key partners in meeting the needs of residents,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “This funding helps empower groups to continue delivering valuable programs and services that make a meaningful difference across Grande Prairie.”

Funding recommendations are guided by demonstrated community need as well as each organization’s capacity to deliver meaningful outcomes.
