The City of Grande Prairie advises residents and motorists that top lift paving on 84 Avenue may begin as early as Monday, July 21, weather permitting.

This final layer of asphalt, known as the top lift, provides a smooth driving surface and plays a critical role in sealing and protecting the road structure beneath. Top lifts help seal the road from water infiltration, improve skid resistance, and extend the overall lifespan of the roadway.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for minor delays and lane restrictions while crews complete the work. Please watch for signage, follow posted speed limits, and use caution around active construction zones.
